Villain Month - 22 - O-ren

Hello there!

For day #22 or Villain Month, I present to you in all of her Japanese-American glory, Kill Bill's very own O-ren Ishii!

The details on this character are a bit fuzzy for me since it's been forever since I've actually seen either volumes of Kill Bill. If memory serves me correctly, O-ren is a Yakuza leader (Japanese mob). She's tough as nails and um...wears a neat little white kimono...yeah! She also has a whole group of masked men who call themselves the "Crazy 88," though Bill himself says that there aren't actually 88 of them - they call themselves that because it "sounds cool."

Kill Bill (broken up into two "volumes") is a really neat film. It's like watching live actors play anime for a couple of hours. The story is really basic and all of it's style over substance, but if you're into a lot of action and you're willing to just have fun, I think both volumes are well worth the view (though V.1 is the better of the two, methinks).

Anyway, as with any of my Villain Month pieces that represent an actor or actress, this isn't meant to be a portrayal of that actress so much as of the character that actress plays. I did not use a reference of the oh-so-lovely Lucy Liu, though my dad was instantly able to tell which villain it was so I guess it sort of looks like her. I think it's the freckles. ;D

I should note that I actually like Elle Driver more than O-ren, so perhaps we can expect to see Elle sometimes in these remaining days of Villain Month. Only time and effort will tell.
