I'm always reading comments/replies on others' work.
I usually skim pointless "OMG SO AWESUM" comments, but I do read through the ones that give good criticism or actually say something constructive.

Haha, yes, there are a lot of those simple, positive comments. They're nice to receive, I suppose, but it does get a little old after awhile.

Yeah, totally! But I really don't mind it, because I don't get a lot anyhow.

I try to do that too.

I usually skim through the short replies and look for the comments with opinions about the piece. I almost always pick up something new every time.

That's not surprising, your comments tend to have a decent amount of depth and thought to them. ;D

I read the artist's comments, but not generally the replies. Frankly, they're usually one of two things:

1) Inane, mindless fangirl squeeing
2) Needlessly rude/cruel critiques.

But then, I also rarely comment myself. (; If I like something, I fav it instead of contributing one of these two crap comments...

I don't think it's so bad to leave a simple, positive comment, but I definitely wish there were more comments that had thought put into them. I try to mention the things that I like about the image and (if applicable) things that I think could be done better to improve for the future.
